In the Concept One™ ecosystem, DIANOVAI is designed to act as the intelligent layer connecting sensing, decision-making and the insulin-delivery hardware, with the longer-term objective of moving beyond today’s predominantly hybrid closed-loop systems (which still require significant manual input around meals and exercise) towards increasingly personalised and autonomous diabetes management. This is important because better algorithms have the potential not only to improve glucose outcomes, but to reduce the constant cognitive burden of managing Type 1 diabetes: instead of requiring the person to continually adapt their life around their diabetes, DIANOVAI intends to create technology that increasingly learns, anticipates and adapts around the patient.
